Transforming Leadership has a shared vision and strategy with those we support. We are an empowering income tax exempt charity with a development strategy aimed at transforming leaders' lives. We aim to enhance their learning and facilitate their ability to transform the lives of others in the communities from which they come. A diagrammatic illustration of our Concept Development Strategy can be seen at this link.
Transforming Leadership exists to equip Christian leaders from all walks of life to be trained in academic institutions that provide progressive practical and scholarly courses in leadership. Transforming Leadership strives to empower these leaders, enabling them to function more effectively in Christian ministry and mission and to develop projects that will improve the lives of people affected by poverty, famine and disease.
Members and friends of Transforming Leadership endorse our mission to train leaders to model their lives and leadership style on Jesus Christ, who was anointed:
"... to preach good news to the poor …to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour" (Luke 4:18, 19).
We understand that the mandate of a leader is to emulate St
Paul's admonition to:
"... be transformed by the renewing of your mind in order to be able to test and approve what God's will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2).
Our motivation is to see godly leaders transformed so that
they might exhibit a style of renewed leadership marked by:
"... godliness with contentment” and the pursuit of “… righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness" (1 Timothy 6:6 and 6:11).
Many people living in cities and rural communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana and Burkina Faso are vulnerable and disadvantaged despite decades of humanitarian effort and expenditure.
The primary objective of Transforming Leadership is to provide scholarships. These scholarships will enable the candidates to take post graduate courses that enhance their own communication and management skills as well as enable them to empower others.
Transforming Leadership facilitates the organisation of seminars, courses and projects that improve the lives of those people affected by poverty, famine and disease. We seek to cooperate with other organisations so as to effectively fulfil the primary objective.
Transforming Leadership has a proven record of sponsored graduates fulfilling its primary objective in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana and Burkina Faso in the provision of health services, education and employment. Important health services are currently being developed to address the Covid-19 pandemic, Ebola epidemic and other serious communicable diseases.
The current strategic priorities are to expand the number of leaders being trained with a view to providing practical sustainable services to the poor in:
