Transforming Leadership provides scholarships and supports projects in Ghana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burkina Faso. We are looking to expand to other areas in Africa and beyond as financing becomes available. Details of how the projects are chosen, and our anticipated outcomes are outlined below.

OUR PROJECTS

Current Transforming Leadership activity includes opportunity for leaders from communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana and Burkina Faso to participate in culturally relevant, pragmatic and scholarly courses in leadership that will equip them to conduct projects in their local communities. This training will enable them to aid local communities through education, employment, improved health care and the elimination of poverty.

The content of the training is delivered in recognised institutions over the duration of the study period. It includes:

  1. Training run by partner organisations with qualified academic staff.
  2. Trained leaders achieving academic qualifications recognised in their countries.
  3. A mentoring program for building character, self-worth and values that will enhance respect in communities through the projects they conduct.
  4. The practice of applying leadership skills by designing projects under the guidance and supervision of mentors in the institutions.

Since its founding, Transforming Leadership has provided its services to organisations and institutions in Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo. With the assistance of donated funds, Transforming Leadership will continue to increase the number of leaders from all over Africa trained in Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burkina Faso. These leaders will commence projects that alleviate poverty in their Anglophone and Francophone communities.

OUR OUTCOMES

For each project, Transforming Leadership:

  1. Signs an agreement with our partner organisations.
  2. Studies and approves the applications of leaders accepted for training.
  3. Reviews the curricula to ensure practical relevance in the provision of leadership skills.
  4. Ensures each institution has sufficient qualified faculty and mentors for the leaders being trained.

The outcomes and how they are measured are as follows:

  1. Academic institutions award certificates of recognition to graduates of the training as evidence of their competence.
  2. Graduates initiate projects that will alleviate poverty.
  3. Graduates provide statistical evidence that demonstrates the effectiveness of their projects.
